Will the price of patents increase? The Competition Authority comes with the important announcement and takes the last minute decision

After the decision taken on March 1 for the temporary annulment of the deed-agreement for raising the price of patents, the Competition Authority considers it illegal, as well as prohibits the entry into force of the decision.

The Directorate of Road Transport Services reports that in coordination with the associations of driving schools it had approved an act-agreement where the new list of minimum prices for the preparation and equipment with a driving license was determined.

Thus, the class B license, the most common one, which is needed to drive a vehicle, would be doubled from 40 thousand to 85 thousand lek, it was determined in the act-agreement.

According to the road transport directorate, these prices covered the real costs of driving schools and avoided informality. But, for the competition authority, the legal practice followed towards the act-agreement seriously violates the law for the protection of competition and distorts the market.

This authority has also decided to monitor the market of driving schools in the country for a period of one year.
