The board does not find "calmness", changes the price of oil again less than 24 hours after the previous day's change

Without even passing 24 hours, the Transparency Board has again changed fuel prices in the country. After increasing them by 8 Lek per liter yesterday, bringing them to 214 Lek, today the Board has changed the prices again.

From 18:00 on Saturday, oil will be traded at 209 Lek per liter, remaining 3 Lek per liter more expensive than it was two days ago.

The highest drop was recorded by gasoline, which will be traded at 187 ALL, approaching the levels of February, before the price crisis began, from 195 ALL yesterday (when it increased from 191 ALL two days ago first).

Market operators claim that they are disoriented by these frequent and perverted moves of the Board. According to them, the fixing of prices by the Transparency Board, instead of having a positive effect, has had the opposite effect, keeping prices artificially high. According to the Association of Hydrocarbons Companies, if operators were free to decide on prices, each of them would take their own risk and make longer-term purchases, at times when they judged that prices in the market had reached a minimum point, such as it also happened in the last few days when oil dropped to around 83 dollars per barrel (see the chart: The performance of oil in the international stock markets during the last year, the Brent indicator). This would delay the reflection of the increase in oil prices in the international stock markets.

"Board interventions are more harmful than letting the market operate in competition. Companies cannot close purchases for longer periods, as frequent price fluctuations from the board only bring damage, causing companies not to keep reserves, as they would be forced to sell at a loss, as long as the prices are fixed by the Board".
