Security issues expert Ilir Kulla, invited to "Now with Erla Mëhillin", said that the cancellation of Defender 2023 in Kosovo is not a US measure against Kosovo.

According to him, the cancellation of the training was a forced measure due to the tensions in the north of the country, as it is conditioned by the circumstances and in Kosovo one cannot talk about training while there is an open conflict.

"Due to the events that have taken place in the north, the KFOR command, the NATO command in Kosovo, has requested in the first place that the operational forces in the NATO region such as Slovenia, Croatia, Albania, Montenegro , Macedonia maybe and Greece to make an addition of 800 troops. This is a request that is made in case of emergencies under the coordination of NATO in Naples.

In the conditions where there is destabilization in the north, the focus is not on the continuation of the training, but on the stabilization of the situation in Kosovo. What NATO has done is not a decision of the Americans against Kosovo, but a forced decision of KFOR, the situation has brought this, not the government of Kosovo.
