"Map" of cocaine in Tirana, the areas where "fairy dust" or "white bread" are sold the most

'White bread' or 'fairy dust' are some of the nicknames used by cocaine dealers in the capital. Referring to the figures, only in the first 5 months of this year, the police of the capital seized 7.5 kg of cocaine, while last year in Tirana, 9 kg of cocaine were seized in various operations. These figures indicate an increase in the consumption of cocaine, but also in the striking force of the police.

The areas most frequented by sellers and criminal groups that deal with this activity are the center of Tirana, the Block area, Paris Municipality and Kodra e Diellit. A few days ago, the Tirana police in Kodra e Diellit area seized 2.3 kg of cocaine and arrested 5 people. This criminal network was led by Kostaq Murtaj who, in addition to selling cocaine, also had a business selling food products in Saranda.

In the cocaine industry, he cooperated with the 2 newly elected councilors of the Sarandë municipality, Olsi Mylka and Shemsi Progda, who, apart from being involved in drugs and politics, also had businesses. In the cocaine distribution scheme, the police identified the employee of the state cadastre agency in Tirana, Donald Muhamuçi, as well as Ermal Lamaj. On February 4 of this year, the Tirana police seized 2.1 kg of cocaine and about 4 kg of heroin, which was distributed by a group led by Brikena Frakulli, who included her children in this activity. Hortenca Biçakun, Klevi Banushi and Artur Kristo were also captured in this operation.

In a similar operation with more than 20 arrestees on March 22, the Tirana police seized more than 2 kg of cocaine. The investigations revealed that the cocaine distribution groups were provided by a foreign person, who came from the Middle East and remained anonymous to the authorities.
