44,750 euros were found in his bag, the 54-year-old man suffered badly in Kakavija

A 54-year-old man was criminally prosecuted by the border police in Kakvija, after an amount of 44,750 euros was found in his bag.

The police seized the amount of money while the materials were referred to the prosecutor's office for the criminal offense of not declaring money at the border.

"As a result of the increased checks, based on the risk analysis, at the exit of the RSH, the Border Police services, during the check carried out in the second line, in the bag of the citizen Dh. P., found 44,750 euros, which were seized as material evidence. This citizen had not declared this amount of money, according to the legal provisions in force.

At the end of the actions, the investigative structures of DVP Gjirokastër referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office and the proceedings started in a free state for the citizen Dh. P., 54 years old, resident in the village of Dhuvjan, Gjirokastër, for the criminal offenses "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border" and "Cleaning the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity", the police informs.
