The case of the former FBI official already under arrest, Charles McGonigal, has stirred up politics in Albania, causing various accusations and assumptions to circulate in the media.

One of them was the news a few days ago that McGonigal has taken large sums of money from well-known Albanian businessmen to clear them of "non-women" in the USA. This was quoted by journalist Denis Dyrnjaja.

But according to journalist Artan Hoxha, something like that is untrue. Hoxha said that McGonigal tried to interfere with a person to enable his passage to Vetting, but he did not succeed.

Hoxha: Don't mess with that, it's not true.

Hoxha: If they gave that person even 5 million euros, he would take it, the thing is how he would get it.

Hoxha: In the reform of justice, he was asked to influence the acquaintances he had, with the cases that I know of who went and asked him for help, they did not pass the vetting. They didn't pass it. But that's why an investigation is needed in Albania, to see who he met.
