Nadire Kurti, the 69-year-old Albanian woman who massacred her husband Shefki Kurti with a machete, has been sentenced to 14 years and 6 months in prison by the Italian court.

The court of Rovigo in Italy gave the decision this Saturday for the punishment of the Albanian citizen who shocked public opinion with her crime. The 69-year-old woman killed and dismembered her husband's body, dividing it into several black plastic bags.

The elderly woman threw the bags into a canal, but everything was discovered on August 18 last year, where the drying of the canal due to high temperatures revealed the serious crime.

The prosecutor explained that the brutality of this crime had made the investigators think of other tracks first, where the main one was the involvement of organized crime.

But after in-depth investigations, it was proven that the author was Kurt's wife, who suffers from mental health problems and has been treated by a psychiatrist for years.

In her testimony about her husband's murder, she said that the 72-year-old threatened her constantly.

"He mistreated me, beat me, asked me to leave because he was going to sell the house. He had threatened me several times that he would kill me and cut me to pieces, and that day he threatened me either I would die or he would die", Kurti confessed.
