The Minister of Economy of North Macedonia, Kreshnik Bekteshi, taking the trigger from the internal conflicts of the Western Balkans, has emphasized in the business forum that it is important to leave the past behind because the internal shocks are damaging regional trade. 

"For 20 years we have been talking about regional cooperation to attract foreign investments, for companies that will give more value to the national economy and the region, but through these internal attacks we not only have problems for our internal economy, but we are also creating problems for the region.

North Macedonia would be committed to facilitate regional cooperation by removing all barriers, approving all protocols and implementing them, as the EU countries have decided," said Bekteshi.
The minister has also stung the EU, as he emphasizes that it should be more open to the countries of the Western Balkans because North Macedonia has also changed its name for integration.

"As for the position of the EU, I think they should be an open door, so the door to the Western Balkans should be opened. North Macedonia and Albania are in the process of screening, because if we want to have a growth plan, we must work together, and not just look at the internal economies. Let's leave the past behind because the past creates many problems for us.

It happened to us in North Macedonia, we changed our name just to aim for the prosperity of our countries. We support CEFTA protocols and EU initiatives, but we ask for even more because we think that the EU has the potential to give more attention not only with words but also with deeds to the Western Balkans", adds the minister.
