The pregnant sister died in an accident, the brother of the 23-year-old Albanian weeps with the details: I had this feeling, her husband recently drank after losing his father

The brother of Adriana Sylmetaj, the 23-year-old who died in a tragic accident two days ago in New York, after her husband was driving while drunk, told foreign media that she was looking forward to became a mother.

'She was excited when she found out she was going to be a mother. It was something new. She couldn't wait to have the baby,' her brother Al Sylmetaj told the Daily News.

'They were thinking about names but hadn't decided yet. They were also thinking of having a party for the sweet reception of the child', he added.

The 23-year-old's brother said that from the beginning he did not have faith in his sister's boyfriend, since he started drinking often, as a result of the pain after losing his father.

'I had this feeling that the result would be this way. Whenever he introduced himself he looked like he was under the influence of alcohol, not because he seemed uncontrollable, but because of the way he spoke. He always asked if I would go out for a drink with him. I just passed my birthday and he invited me to drink with him, but I refused, said the brother.

Sylmetaj worked as a veterinary technician, but had recently taken maternity leave.

 'It was perfect. You can't say anything else. It's the worst way for her to die. Neither she nor the child deserved it. I can't say anything that can fix or change what happened', said one of her friends.

Al Sylmetaj said her sister had introduced her boyfriend to relatives two years ago.

“E donte jetën, ishte gjithmonë e lumtur. E gjithë familja po priste fëmijën. Dy fëmijët e mi, kam një 5 vjeç dhe tjetrin 6 vjeç dhe një tjetrën që do të vinte vërdallë, kjo ishte ajo që po prisnin të gjithë”, tha ai.

Vëllai tregoi se tashmë po përpiqen të kuptojnë dinamikën e aksidentit.

“Është e vështirë. Nuk mund ta besoj”, tha ai.

Sipas tij, i dashuri i motrës nuk ishte aq entuziast që do të bëhej baba.

“Nuk mendoj se ishte gati për të pasur fëmijë. Nuk ishte përgatitur për këtë gjë. Nuk do të bëhesh baba s’mund të shkosh t’i japësh mjetit i dehur. Duhet të mendosh pak”, tha ai.

Më tej, Al është shprehur se të gjithë familjarët kanë vënë re diçka për Nikeziç. Sipas tij ai tentonte t’i manipulonte ose t’i bënte ta pëlqenin.

"When she told me that she was happy, that she loved him, I believed her (sister's) word and accepted her. I often asked him if everything was okay. Maybe it wasn't mutual. It seemed like she loved him more," he said.
