Nora Malaj confesses like never before: I was fired from my job, after 16 years I still haven't received...

Invited to the "Vila24" studio, moderated by Brunilda Lahe, former deputy. Minister of Education Nora Malaj, invited as a sociologist, has focused on the unpaid work of women in Albania and the alarming proportions of economic abuse. In a panel with the journalist Aurora Golemi, Malaj referred to the concrete example of the treatment of women in the Albanian reality, when he said that even though she is in high state positions, as part of the Equal Opportunities Commission, dependent on the Council of Ministers, after they dismissed him from his job, he could not get the compensation money even after winning the case 16 years ago.
"Women's rights are hardly recognized. I became an MP and I couldn't get my money..." - she confesses for the first time publicly on this issue.
Triggered by a report by Un Woman that the unpaid work of women in Albania has brought a loss of 324 million euros per year, Malaj and Golemi brought the experiences of Albanian women who, due to the lameness of the work of the relevant institutions, are forced to stay at home and take care of children, the elderly or even the disabled.
"During the work on the drafting of the law that favored women, I met with many such women in different districts of the country. I was surprised when they told me they were nostalgic for co-ops. As a sociologist, I became curious, as they told me that back then at least they had the motivation to meet their friends, comb their hair and put on lipstick, while now they run to work the land, cook, take care of the children... and at the end of the day they are exhausted . So we are dealing with women in depression," says Malaj.
