The powerful anticyclone from the UK is expected to approach! Forecasters show what awaits Albania in the following days: Watch out on Friday!

The week we have entered is expected to be characterized by changeable weather, but with a tendency for winter to return at the end of the week. The beginning of the week brings us time intervals with sunshine and local eclipses as well as symbolic atmospheric precipitation.

The powerful anticyclone in the center near the UK will have the situation under control providing us with mostly stable weather, with cold mornings but not-so-cold days. On the other hand deep in the north and east of Europe and in Russia we have strong cyclones with heavy snowfall and heavy winters in those countries.

These cyclones are very far from our territories, however their impact will be felt very little by means of weak, cold air fronts. During midweek, the British anticyclone is expected to move slightly westwards, paving the way for a strong cold air front from the north and northeast towards the Balkans. This strong front will bring us snowfall on Friday and strong, cold winds from the north. At some interval, heavy snowfall and the formation of layers of snow for several centimeters are expected.

The front (on Friday) is expected to condition transient cyclones in the Adriatic and Ionian Sea, but this cyclone is not expected to be stationed, but will leave quickly in the direction of Greece and Turkey. For this reason, the snowfall will not last long, but will be dense enough to create solid layers in most of the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.

Apart from Kosovo, snowfall is expected in the north of Montenegro, almost all of mainland Albania, and there may even be snowfall in some Mediterranean areas, then in the Valley and Northern Macedonia. Snowfall will start in Kosovo, to then expand towards Albania and Northern Macedonia.
