The embassies of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States and the Office of the European Union, through a joint statement, have reiterated their positions against Kosovo's recent actions in the north.
"We reiterate our statement of May 26 condemning Kosovo's decision to force entry into municipal buildings in northern Kosovo, despite our continued calls for restraint," the statement said.
In this context, QUINT and the EU expect that the authorities of the Government of Kosovo will not take any new measures to force entry into the municipal buildings in Leposaviq, Zubin Potok and Zveçan.
According to them, elected leaders should also show restraint and take immediate action to demonstrate their commitment and responsibility to represent and serve all members of their communities.
At the same time, QUINT and the EU strongly warn all parties against threats or other actions that could affect a safe and secure environment, including freedom of movement, and that could fuel tensions or fuel conflict .
"We are particularly concerned about the safety and well-being of civilians, police officers, members of EULEX and KFOR. The new unilateral actions will negatively affect the relations with the Quint countries and the EU", it is further stated.
Quinti and the EU emphasize that the EU-facilitated Dialogue is the path towards normalization of relations and acceptance into the EU.
"We remind the parties to work together in the next steps for the implementation of the Agreement reached between Kosovo and Serbia in February and March of this year, including ASMM, and to participate constructively and sincerely in the future meetings of the Dialogue", it says at the end.
