The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vu?i?, has denied the statements of the USA and the EU regarding the deployment of military forces along the border with Kosovo.

"A campaign of lies has been launched against our Serbia", responded President Aleksandar Vucic in a video post on Instagram.

"They have lied a lot about the presence of our military forces... In fact, they are concerned that Serbia has what they describe as sophisticated weapons," he said.

Both the United States and the European Union expressed concern earlier this week about increased military deployment from Serbia's border with Kosovo and asked Belgrade to reduce its troop presence there.

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said on Sunday that "within 24 hours" he will present to the public "the evidence and the stories of the witnesses who were at the scene", during the attack against the Kosovo Police in the village of Banjska in the north of Kosovo .

In a video published on Instagram, he emphasized that "Serbia will not rest until the truth is known about what happened in Banjska", where a Kosovo policeman and at least three Serbian attackers were killed on September 24.

On Friday, Millan Radoicic took responsibility for the attack on the Kosovo Police, and resigned from the post of vice president of the Serbian List - the largest party of Serbs in Kosovo, which has the support of the Serbian Government.

Serbia has denied Kosovo's accusations that it was involved in this attack, described as a terrorist attack by the Kosovar authorities.

Vucic said that he "does not intend to order the army" to cross the border with Kosovo and that he will withdraw the Serbian forces from that part, claiming that it is not true that Serbia is sending the army to the border.

"Last year we had 14,000 people near the administrative line, today we have 7,500 and we will reduce it to 4,000," said Vucic.

The movement of Serbian troops along the border with Kosovo comes about a week after the September 24 attack on the Kosovo Police in Banjska, Zveçan.
