Tragedy is avoided in Kosovo, two planes with 300 people risked collision! What happened?

300 passengers risked their lives in Kosovo's airspace on February 24 of this year, when the planes they were traveling in risked colliding with each other.

Around 3:30 p.m. in the space above Ramoc in Gjakova on the aforementioned date, the Prishtina-Malmo line plane of the operator "Trade Air" almost collided with the line plane coming from Düsseldorf, operated by the Bulgarian company " GP Aviation".

Sources of "Kiks Kosova" inform that the Air Navigation Service Agency did not notice that the two planes were heading towards the collision.

But they realized this from a phone call from "Alb Control of Albania", who alerted their colleagues from Kosovo that something was wrong with the planes of "GP Aviation" from Bulgaria and "Trade Air" from Croatia.

Stunned by this fact, the controllers, who had not noticed that the planes were traveling on the same trajectory, were delayed and did not react.

But the accident was fortunately avoided thanks to the in-flight radar system, TCAS, which is activated only when the planes are heading for a collision.

This alarm system has three alerts, one that goes off at 1,000 feet (304.8 meters), the second at 800 feet (243.84 meters), and the last one, which actually went off in this case and only goes off at the most dangerous level. close to the collision, that is, when the planes are at a distance of 600 feet (182.88 meters), Klan Kosova reports.

With all the chaos caused on the afternoon of Friday, February 24, the workers of Kulla in Pristina were silent.

Kiks sources within the Aviation institutions inform that the case was tried to be hidden, due to the fact that that night in the tower as controller was the son of a former KLA commander from the area of ??Llapi, considered to be strong within ASHNA -s, as he is also the grandson of a current deputy of the PDK.

AShNA has banned the two controllers of A.Sh. and FL, exercising their duties as controllers, until the investigation of this incident is completed.

Kiksi contacted the director of Civil Aviation, Bujar Ejupin, about this matter, who confirmed the case, stressing that he found out about the incident 3 days after the case.

The Commission for the Investigation of Aeronautical Accidents and Incidents has already started investigations into the case.

Kiks Kosova has provided the decision, which obliges the aviation institutions to provide all the facts to investigate the case. In the decision, it is stated that with the facts provided so far, there is sufficient basis to initiate investigations into the fact that the safety of civil aviation has been endangered.

The decision entered into force on the day of signing, March 17, 2023.
