When only a few hours passed after the arrest of the former mayor of Durrës Vangjush Dako, his lawyer Petrit Ismaili gave a statement to the media.
He has revealed that he was the one who informed Dako about the existence of an arrest warrant, while they further informed the authorities about the location of Dako, who was then in Tirana.
"At the time of the arrest, I am the one who notified the police after the news from the media about Dako's location. Dako has been in Tirana. When we saw that there is a security measure, we notified the authorities who came and executed the order, under the conditions of self-surrender.
He has been in contact with SPAK and provided all the necessary details. He is ready to face justice.
"Dako has had no health problems, the emotional part and stress are present, but there are no other health problems," he said.
