Air Traffic Controllers in Macedonia (MATCU) have reacted in connection with the strike of Albcontrol controllers where due to this situation the work at Rinas Airport was suspended.
Through the statement, MATCU, has shown solidarity with the controllers of Albcontrol, while emphasizing that they are outstanding professionals with whom they have cooperation for over 25 years.
They call on the government to resolve the situation, not using them as toys in politics.
Air Traffic Controllers in Macedonia (MATCU), express support for colleagues at AlbControl.
Our reaction comes as a result of the information we received about the pressure and attack on colleagues in Albania. We condemn this action and wish to offer all support to Alb Control professionals.
In this time of crisis, when the whole world is affected by the cornavirus, air traffic controllers are an essential part of the aviation industry and we do not have the luxury of working in a safe place like the rest of the workers who are on the line. first.
Air traffic controllers are trying to cope with the new situation, which only adds to the stressful work with the strict rules we have to follow including the laws, as defined by EUROCONTROL and other international parts through which the safest transport is provided and faster of people and goods.
Our colleagues in Albania have always been professional and politics is not what represents them, and they can not be used as tools in the daily political battlefield.
MATCU urges the authorities to resolve the conflict through dialogue and not through unilateral action.
During the past 25 years, cooperating with colleagues in Albania, we have met only responsible and cooperative people and we have always appreciated their professionalism.
