Dutch and Italian fans bring monkey line to Albania? The expert speaks
Written by SOT.COM.AL 25 Maj 2022
Thousands of fans from Italy and the Netherlands have arrived in Albania for the grand final of the Conference League between Rome and Feyenoord.
But the arrival of these numerous fans also increases the risk of spreading diseases that are circulating across Europe, such as that of the Coronavirus but also the Lemon Monkey that is bothering the authorities.
However Massimo Andreoni, director of the complex infectious diseases operating unit at the Tor Vergata Polyclinic in Rome and scientific director of the Italian Association of Infectious and Tropical Diseases, has expressed that the risk is more covid than Monkey Line.
"It is easier for tens of thousands of people, including Italian and Dutch fans, to exchange a little Covid than monkey line."
"I find it difficult to create an outbreak, in Albania there are no cases of aphids and in Italy there are very few - explains Andreon - so the unfortunate event that at the moment in Albania there is a patient with aphids and he can exchange the infection with others it is objectively very low ”.
The risk is "much higher" for Covid.
