After Gwyneth Paltrow was found not guilty in a 2016 skiing accident at a Utah resort, a judge in Park City allowed her to leave the courtroom in front of the media.

As she headed for the exit, she stopped to whisper something to the man who embroiled her in a nearly eight-year legal saga.

Terry Sanderson, a 76-year-old retired ophthalmologist, was found "100% responsible" for the accident.

"Her exact words were 'I wish you all the best, that's all she said,'" Sanderson said when asked about what Paltrow said to her. "I said, thank you, dear," he said.

But since the conversation was not picked up on courtroom microphones, what was said may never be known for sure.

According to the BBC , after seven years in court, some on social media speculated that this could be made up, during the divorce of the actress from the lead singer of 'Coldplay', Chris Martin.
