Here are the "wolves" of Vladimir Putin who are "floating in money" from the war in Ukraine, how they are exploiting Russia's clash with the West

Some countries are heading for a "collision" with the US-led West if they no longer actively oppose the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as experts have warned. In the last United Nations vote on the Russian occupation of Ukraine, in connection with the condemnation of Vladimir Putin's annexation of four regions in eastern Ukraine last September/October, 35 countries abstained from voting. Countries like Belarus, Iran and North Korea are already explicitly supporting Putin in his "special military operation" in Ukraine, China is busy with its fight to replace the US as a global superpower, while dozens of nations others are trying to carefully position themselves to take advantage of this geopolitical divide.

Africa

Russia's influence on the African continent is historic and shows no signs of diminishing in the future. In Mali, on the western side of the continent, Wagner Group forces have been working alongside the country's military for years to push back Islamic jihadist insurgencies linked to al-Qaeda. Last month, the interim president of neighboring Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traore, described Russia as "a key strategic and military ally" in its fight against extremists, although he denied rumors that Wagner forces were coming to their aid. Their reasons for refraining from condemning the invasion of Ukraine are clear; the value of the Russian military presence, private or public, is seen as an integral part of their security. South Africa has also befriended Vladimir Putin, openly declaring, although it has been careful not to antagonize the West. Earlier this week, their government announced it would not heed calls from the International Criminal Court to arrest Vladimir Putin when he steps foot on their soil this August for the BRICS summit. Former US ambassador to Zimbabwe, Charles Ray, said "There is an affinity between the country's ruling party, the African National Congress, the South African army and the Russian people". Many of them were trained in the Soviet Union, they learned the trade military alongside the Russians and continue to organize joint naval exercises with them. Middle East

Outside of Iran, Syria is the only country that did not vote in favor of Ukraine in the last UN vote last October. Like Iran, however, they not only abstained from the vote, they opposed it. For more than a decade, Vladimir Putin has supported the Syrian regime of Bashar Al-Assad against many Western-backed rebel movements in the region. While the war-torn country is unable to provide any substantial support to Russia again, it is being readmitted slowly in the Middle East community, his alliance with Vladimir Putin is much needed.

Central Asia
