The Swedish prime minister, ready to 'hit' Russia again, appeals to the EU

The European Union has not yet reached an agreement on the content of the seventh package of sanctions against Russia or on the date of its adoption, Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson said at a joint conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kiev.

She said that Sweden is ready to adopt new sanctions packages against Russia. Commenting on whether this can be done before the summer holidays, she added that there are different opinions on this matter in the European Union. Andersson stressed the importance of fully implementing these sanctions so that there are no loopholes to counter them.

She noted that Sweden is ready to include an embargo on the purchase of natural gas from Russia in the seventh package of sanctions. Andersson added that Sweden is not dependent on Russian gas, while other countries have different circumstances.
