He drank the "magic" syrup that cured the coronavirus, the Minister of Health suffers badly

Last month alone, thousands of people gathered in the northwestern Sri Lankan city of Kegalle to receive a dose of "magic potion" that would protect them from the pandemic.

He was nothing but a mixture of honey with nutmeg, and claimed that he worked miracles against disease.

But the extraordinary syrup did not seem to work for Sri Lanka's health minister, Pavithra Wanniarachchi, who tested positive for Covid 19 after two tests and after staying in isolation.

The scientific community had warned against administering this product presented as a miracle, as a recipe to save humanity from the coronavirus, claims these which were not based on any scientific basis.

In this country, it is not surprising that the population uses "magic" against various diseases, and for this reason the fact that the Minister of Health himself had received home-made treatment, within the borders did not make any big fuss.
