Six officers from the Memphis Police Department have been fired during the investigation into the brutal beating of 29-year-old Tire Nichols in the US.
"Officer Preston Hemphill has been relieved of duty pending the outcome of the administrative investigation," the police department told US media.
Nichols, died three days after the violence by five police officers on January 7.
Immediately after the release of several videos, where the violence exercised by the police against the 29-year-old man was seen, protests broke out in the USA.
While five officers have been fired and charged in Nichols' death earlier, a sixth was fired today.
Americans have protested over the rights of people of color and the control of violence by police officers.
We recall that on May 25, 2022, the murder of George Floyd, another black American, took place in the USA, which was followed by protests around the world under the slogan "Black Lives Matter".
