The situation in Turkey remains dramatic with rescue teams struggling in adverse weather conditions to find survivors in the rubble caused by the devastating earthquake.

Among the thousands of missing are athletes and their families. As the Turkish Volleyball Federation announces, the women's volleyball team, Rasus Kimya Hatay Voleybol, has been added to the missing, with a tragic history.

This team was stationed on the outskirts of Rasus in Gaziantep, a city that also suffered terrible damage. At noon on Sunday they were playing in the house of Antakya (Antioch) and it is not known why they remained in the city and did not return to their house.

The team apparently stayed in the hostels that were in the stadium (Antakia Sports Hall) or in a nearby hotel, which collapsed and according to the Federation, the entire team was buried under the rubble.

According to unconfirmed information, a volleyball development tournament was scheduled to take place in Antioch these days, and in the same building, there were also two volleyball teams from Cyprus, who are also suspected to be among the missing.
