The earthquake shook Ecuador, the number of victims is reported

A 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck a coastal region of Ecuador and northern Peru, leaving at least four people dead and resulting in some structural damage.
"I call for calm and for people to be informed through official channels," Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso said in a tweet.
The earthquake, which the US Geological Survey (USGS) measured at magnitude 6.8, struck at a depth of 66.4 km (41.3 miles) about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) from the town of Balao in Guayas province.
Ecuador's Secretariat for Risk Management said in a statement that a wall had collapsed on a vehicle, killing one person, in the city of Cuenca. In Machala community, three people were killed and numerous structures collapsed, including a two-story house and a pier, while many communities lost power.
The initial quake was followed by two weaker aftershocks in the following hour, according to Ecuador's Institute of Geophysics.
