The office of "?Y? Parti" in Istanbul was attacked with firearms. According to the first information, a bullet ended up in the glass of the party building, while the police surrounded the area.

Meanwhile, the leader of this party, Meral Aksener, is said to have had a fierce confrontation with the president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdo?an, regarding a hospital which, according to her, was never built.

In her post on Twitter, she launches an attack against Recep Tayyip Erdo?an, emphasizing: In the era of your power, all attacks on my home and colleagues went unpunished. Today there was an armed attack in our head office of the province of Istanbul, Mr. Rexhep! If you're going to come, come!

The attack was also condemned by the mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglou, writing: I condemn the armed attack on the local Istanbul organization of "?Y? Parti". The authorities investigate the incident.

Reacting to the attack, the adviser of the president of this party pointed the finger at Recep Tayyip Erdo?an and specifically referred to the statements of the president of the AKP against Meral Aksener, who had said "Don't make me deal with you".

As Aksener's counsel said, the attack was the result of hate speech, insults and threats.

"The biggest problem in Turkey in 2023 is the mentality that causes this hate speech!" he said.

CHP Vice President Segit Torun strongly condemned the armed attack and wished that "all the perpetrators involved in the politics of intimidation of free speech be brought to justice as soon as possible".
