Work continues to confirm the new supplementary benefits to persons who have worked in the mines, employees of the oil and gas industry, as well as those who have worked in the metallurgy sector. The Social Insurance Institute yesterday unveiled the list of 208 new beneficiaries who provide pensions and allowances on the pension, as a result of the work done in these professions, whose benefits have been calculated during this week. Referring to the list published on the official website of ISSH, the next beneficiaries belong mostly to the capital, followed by Fieri, Durrës, Vlora, Bulqiza, Elbasan, Pogradec, Korça, Shkodër, Mallakastër and Lushnje. The persons whose name is on the next list will benefit this amount based on the law “On financial treatment, supplementary to workers who have worked in underground mines, to workers in the oil and gas industry and to workers who have worked in metallurgy ”. However, according to this law, treatment with supplementary pension benefits all citizens who have worked and work in the oil and gas industry. This law also benefits those persons who are injured at work, regardless of the working time in this industry. Persons who receive the status, according to the provisions of law, are provided with official identification evidence, determined by the commission set up for this purpose. The law recognizes the benefit of all oil workers who have retired and according to years of seniority at work will benefit from an additional 1-40% of the amount of pension they currently receive. Referring to the law adopted in May 2019,
Benefits for metallurgists and oil workers
The amendments brought to this law provide that, for mining pensioners who have retired under law 150/2014 and who have previously received special treatment, the right to a pension supplement arises from the moment the law enters into force and not when they reach the age of 65 years. This is because they have come out with less seniority to work underground and as a result have lower pensions. According to data from the MFE, this category includes about 1900 beneficiaries. With this addition the income of most miners reaches the amount of the maximum pension that other pensioners benefit, through the pure contribution scheme. This draft law provides additional benefits for those former miners, oilmen and metallurgists, who have worked in the state industry and who work in the private sector, but it is envisaged that employers and private employees will continue to pay additional contributions of 5%. For invalids who have become so due to an accident at work or an occupational disease and therefore have less seniority in the profession than the seniority provided by law, the seniority for miners will be calculated with 5 years of work underground and for oil workers and metallurgists with 20 years of work. For this benefit, together with the application documentation, the pensioner must also submit these documents proving that he is disabled; workbook; certificate of seniority at work and its type; certificate for the insurance period; court decision for recognition of seniority at work; any other supporting document proving that he is at work; certificate from the employer about the profession and the nature of the work.
