The lack of labor force is 'locking' the doors of businesses, the expert raises the alarm: Employers should be more supportive of their employees, the summer season awaits...

The increase in prices has made life unaffordable, and as a solution they have found leaving the country for better economic conditions. The easing of conditions for employees from the Balkans has been enough for most Albanians to flee to European countries.

This situation since last year has been felt in the marked lack of staff, especially in the seasonal employment sector.

"The most problematic sectors is certainly the fashion sector, it has declared about 20,000 needs for employees. It is the sector of bars and restaurants, the sector of the manufacturing industry, it is the tourism sector that is coming soon and the tourist season and the needs are very high", says expert Erion Muça.

According to expert Erion Muça, employers should prioritize their employees.

"They need to become more sensitive to their employees, they need to build a real performance, efficiency and results evaluation system for their employees. They will have to provide and standardize the salary system and the progressiveness of their growth based on seniority, on the basis of the contribution and commitment that an employee has.

Not to attribute to themselves a very high margin of profit and income, but to distribute it in the form of salary increases for employees, in the form of benefit packages and in the form of bonuses for employees".

The official unemployment rate in Albania, for the population aged 15 and over, according to INSTAT, is 10.8%.
