"It is estimated that about 712 thousand people will receive, but the number of beneficiaries is about 765 thousand beneficiaries who will benefit. If a pensioner received 150,000 old lek, he will receive 162,900 lek. All categories that are treated with payment by ISSH, with the exception of martyr status, all other categories benefit. All retirees in December have to receive the bonus calculated in the amount of 50 thousand ALL. Each country will calculate the pension based on the years of contributions he has here, so we will give him a pension based on the 10 years he has in Albania, while the Italians will give it to the 15 he has there, and the citizen will receive a pension from us and one from the Italian state. I believe that the discussions with Greece are on the right track and now we are in the discussion phase", declared Hado.

Rama: From October 1, pensions will increase by 8.6%

Meanwhile, the prime minister of Albania, Edi Rama, published yesterday on "Facebook" the news of the government's decision to increase pensions to 8.6 percent. The decision will start to be implemented on October 1 for over 767 thousand pensioners of all categories. Rama announced the indexation of pensions in April after the presentation of the new economic package. "Notifying you that from October 1, over 767 thousand pensioners of all categories will benefit from an 8.6% increase in their pension, I wish you a good day", wrote Rama.

This increase covers the entire price change for the period August 2022 - August 2023, measured by INSTAT in a dedicated way for the category of pensioners (the Consumer Price Index for pensioners is different from the population index, as it takes into account the changes of prices of goods and services consumed by pensioners). In addition to these increases, the government has also given bonuses, such as the one at the end of the year that is already included in the Budget Law of each year and which will be granted this year as well.
