The year 2021 has started with a significant decrease in payment for families receiving economic assistance, for former political persecuted as well as for the baby bonus. The Ministry of Finance has recently published the preliminary report on the level of expenditures and revenues in the first two months of 2021. In the published data, it is immediately noticed that expenditures for an important category have shrunk a lot. Expenditures for the payment of the former persecuted have decreased significantly. Citizens of this category have always expressed their dissatisfaction with very low payments, but the year 2021 found them with a drastic contraction. Referring to the data, in January-February the fund for their payment was registered at 240 million ALL, while in the same period of 2021 for them only 52 million ALL were paid. Also, Payments for this category have decreased in relation to the initial budget plan 2021. “For the second month of 2021, they reached about 69.17 billion ALL, where the plan was 69.887 million ALL. Current expenditures amounted to about 62,963 million ALL in 2 months, for which the initial plan was 71,015 million ALL. For the compensation of the former persecuted, the process has not progressed at the projected rates, as the last fund for the heirs has been realized only 5%, from the 1 billion ALL provided for the year. So 188 million less in 2021 ", it is said in the report of the ministry. However, we note here that the damage to this category is even greater. Because during the discussions on this issue in the approval of the budget it was said that, within the first months of 2021 the fund will be distributed, which was not given during 2020 and 900 million ALL will be focused on the families of the former persecuted, who should be a priority for this year. But, as far as this has not happened so far, as the first phase for their reward has not started yet.

Economic assistance

The payment for economic assistance was also reduced in January-February 2021, compared to January-February 2020. According to data published by the Ministry of Finance, the payment for this category was recorded 1 billion less. Specifically, in the first two months of 2020 the government paid 4. 180 million ALL for families receiving assistance, while for this beginning of the year only 3.176 million ALL were paid. The payment for social housing was also on the dive. In the budget of 2021, the government provided ALL 300 million only for social housing and ALL 1.5 billion for rent bonuses. Although spending in this regard has been abundant, the housing issue has focused mostly on those affected by the earthquake, leaving aside others who benefit from the social housing law.

The baby fund is reduced
