The famous singer of Albanian origin, Eleni Foureira, during the photo-session realized for "Vouge Grecce", not only posed with her rounded belly, she also confessed the difficulties she encountered precisely from her origin.
She stated that she was forced not to reveal her Albanian origin because she was an immigrant who had fled poverty and civil war.
"At the beginning of my career, I was forced not to say that I am from Albania, as if it were something bad. Then I couldn't help myself, even TV was different, more violent. I think if I started today, I wouldn't let people do that to me. The world today is going against racism, it is not letting it flourish and this is very important. Now, at this stage of my life, I am constantly thinking about how I can raise a child with an open mind, without prejudices and stereotypes. I want to teach him to respect all people, not to discriminate, not to bully, accept, empathize, understand diversity and fight for visibility. I want him not to be ashamed to be himself and to leave space for other people around him to be themselves", Eleni Foureira confessed to "Vogue Greece".
Among other things, Foureira has stated that she will never raise her child the way she was raised. "I have been working since I was 13", she declared, but I will never allow my child to work from that age.
"I can't compare the way he will grow up to the way I grew up. I experienced a different situation. Poverty, civil war in Albania, migration to Greece, a big way to redefine my life at a very young age. At the same time, however, with unlimited love from my parents. All this made me very sensitive, but also very difficult at the same time. At the age of thirteen I was handing out flyers on the streets. We had to survive. There was no room for all of us not to work. I will raise a child who will not have to do this to survive. But I want to teach him that it's okay not to have everything and that life is a game of affirmations. Nothing comes to you that fast. I want him to know that to have something, he has to work hard,
