Yesterday evening , Earth 'met' an asteroid the size of a bus.
The distance was only 90,000 kilometers or about 23% of the Earth-Moon distance.
It is surprising that no astronomer knew that this asteroid was approaching the Earth.
The one-word space rock named '2002 NF' passed safely close to planet Earth.
Astronomers discovered the asteroid with the Pan-STARRS telescope system in Hawaii.
The length of the asteroid is estimated to be between 5.5 and 12.5 meters.
Because of its small size, the asteroid did not meet NASA's criteria to be considered 'potentially hazardous' to our planet, as for such a designation it would have to be at least 140 meters.
