Facebook data theft, the fine META received is revealed

Meta Inc. will have to pay the fine of 4 million euros imposed on Facebook by the Personal Data Protection Authority of the Republic of San Marino in 2019 for the distribution, described as illegal, of the personal data of about 12,700 citizens of San Marino .

ANSA reports that Mark Zuckerberg's company appealed to the Court and then to the Court of Appeal of San Marino, believing in the annulment of the provision of the "Titan" Privacy Guarantee.

"If the fine of 4 million euros imposed by San Marino (which of course does not disturb Facebook's budget) is applied proportionally to the other states, the total amount of the fine for the total of 533 million euros affected arithmetically reaches 166 billion euros," - said Umberto Rapetto, the president of the Privacy Guarantor of the small Republic, which has a little more than 33,000 inhabitants.
