25 years since the fall of the legendary commander, Fehmi Lladrovci

25 years ago, the day before he gave his life together with his wife Xheva, the legendary commander, Fehmi Lladrovci told his KLA comrades: "What better day than today to die for the country. Do not be afraid, whoever has the deka will fall on the altar of Freedom. We have to fight a war that will go down in the annals of history."
The next day, September 22, 1998, the commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Fehmi Lladrovci, and his wife, the fearless warrior Xhevë Krasniqi-Lladrovci, fell heroically, in an unequal battle with the Serbian forces.
The heroes of the epic of Kosovo's resistance, Fehmi and Xhevë Lladrovci, were among the most emblematic and well-known figures of the organization and struggle for freedom in Kosovo, also commander Fehmi Lladrovci and a prominent fighter of Croatia.
Fehmi Lladrovci was the commander of Brigade 114 of the KLA, whose name this brigade received after his heroic fall.
Fehmi Lladrovci was not only a fighter. The interview of Fehmi Lladrovci given to the English journalist of BBC World, in May 1998, expresses the entire political philosophy of the Kosovo Liberation Army. To the foreign journalist's statement that: "...for the Serbs you are terrorists", Fehmiu will reply:
"Okay, let the Serbs argue only one act of terrorism carried out by the Kosovo Liberation Army. While we can count thousands of cases of terror perpetrated by Serbian phalanxes on the defenseless Albanian population. Let them show only one innocent person who was killed by the KLA, an unarmed person, a child or a woman, wherever they are in the territory of Kosovo. We have not taken up arms to fight against the Serbian population living in Kosovo. We took them against the Serbian regime and against the Serbian police and military forces that are in Kosovo".
As for this journalist's question: "Would he die for Kosovo?", he, with a characteristic smile, would answer: "With all my heart. That would be the greatest honor for me!”
For Fehmi Lladrovci, his wife, Xheva, and the epic of the KLA, the researcher, journalist, writer, former chairman of the LPK, outstanding activity of the national issue and leader of the KLA, Mr. Bedri Islami wrote the book "Double Eternity: Fehmiu and Xheva, an extraordinary life".
In the municipality of Drenas, the great monument of the heroes, the Lladrovci couple, has been placed in the Great Square of the heroes of the nation.
We hope that very soon, in cooperation with the local government, we will place a memorial to them in the city of Vlora.
