The "deep pit" of pensions and their increase by 8.6%......?!

Written by Evdal Nuri 29 Shtator 2023

These are the two "Sihariqes" of the last days. The Prime Minister emphasized the first in the meeting with the media, emphasizing: "Let's hope for Shpiragu", "the addition", the Government is expected to approve these days. It must be admitted that it is not an increase, but the largest indexation, after that of last year with 6%. Let's get it straight from the start. If the inflation in August was 7.7%, 8.6% more indexed the price increase. The real increase is 1%, or 1,500 in the city and 900 lek in the countryside, one coffee every two days. We were happy, but facing the increase in prices, poverty will not disappear and life will be difficult again. My friends and my wife convinced me about this. Whoever has the money" has the power". I ask for "power", but he is weak. The psonis woman constantly complains about the high prices and talks, stressing that she doesn't know the market. A yogurt and a loaf of bread cost 150 Lek, now 300 ALL. A kg of meat used to cost 800 Lek, now it costs 1600 Lek, cheese has gone from 700 Lek to 1500 Lek. Five tomatoes 200 ALL. This is the situation with the prices of dozens of the most essential food items. 1- "Deep pit" of pensions. It really is very deep. 767 thousand pensioners "fell" there. They want to go out, they try, but it is difficult. It is said that oil will be extracted, and we will be saved, but when? Some questions arise here: 'Who created this pit? If others have left it, in 10 years of governance, why was it not reduced at least? Pensioners feel the depth of this hole every day. I have heard other excuses. Insurance has dwindled due to labor shortages. It is known that Albanians do not eat their work. There are thousands of cafes in Tirana and throughout Albania, filled with young people who don't want a job. They want to spend the day in a cafe. There are cafes everywhere and there is something for all ages. Cafes are educating laziness, which we are very fond of! Many work in the black. There are two borderos, one for the minimum wage where the insurance is paid and the other with lek in hand. So we have a "hole" that is never being filled.....! 2-Official data. The difference between the pension and the average wage is even deeper for the countryside. The average monthly payment for the village was 35% of the salary. The difference between the average salary and the average pension is expected to deepen even more this year, as the government is increasing salaries for the public administration with the aim of doubling them in the next two years, while only indexation and support with aid packages are foreseen for pensions when there are budget surpluses .. In the first 4 months of 2023, the average inflation was 6%. According to INSTAT regulations. poverty line in Albania (6.7 USD per day) INSTAT data shows that the average inflation was 6.7% last year causing real pensions to decrease by 6% in the city. From next month, pensioners in the city will receive an average of 1,500 ALL more, while those in the countryside will receive less than 900 ALL from the current 17,350 ALL. Why ? In August, inflation was 7.7%, so the real increase is 1%. On the other hand, old-age pensions in the village remained unchanged. The monthly income for pensioners in rural areas reached 10,888 ALL with an annual increase of 6.8%. So, the amount of pensions in our country is below the relative poverty line. 3-What does BB say? She emphasizes that out of 75 thousand poor families in the country, only 22 thousand of them receive help, while 53 thousand other families were excluded. I learned that it is the fourth year that the state, by court decision, is forced to pay 20 million euros every year to the people it dismissed without right. This figure is as much as twice the expenses it gives to families for economic assistance! With greater care and not with party appointments, this amount could have gone to the needy! With waste, abuses, mismanagement that amount to hundreds of millions of euros, there was and is the possibility that pensions would increase much more than that. . This is for the contribution and support that pensioners have given to this country. Social IS clarifies that during 2022, families who receive partial pensioners make up 48% of the number of pensioners, from 45% in 2021. The seller of the Qerameti neighborhood showed me the notebook of pensioners who receive because they cannot pay! He further explained to me that it is not only pensioners, but also those who work in private enterprises. There are cases where they pay for two or three months. 3- Pensions, lower than anywhere else! Not in Europe, but maybe in the region. Pensioners take care of children, especially those who are abroad. The government has the task of increasing pensions, keeping the standard of living unchanged, at least the rate of inflation. In other words, a person who receives 20,000 lek per month and inflation increases by 5%, to maintain the same standard of living, he should receive 21,000, which in fact he does not receive! Nominal salary is the salary we receive in cash. You can get more lek, but the prices have increased more. In order to maintain the same standard of living, the government must index wages in line with the rate of inflation. The real wage is the amount of material goods that the nominal wage provides. The increase in prices more than the nominal salary significantly lowers the standard of living is not happening this year! As a result, real incomes decrease. Life becomes more difficult even though you get more money. Albania is expected to have a larger population aged over 65 than countries such as: France, Sweden, Serbia, Montenegro and others. Next, 5- 92% of elderly people have at least one chronic disease and 77% have at least two. Heart disease, cancer and diabetes are the most common diseases and cause 1/3 of deaths each year. Every elderly person should be checked by the doctor regularly: choose healthy food to prevent chronic diseases.. The state is not responsible for these diseases! Most of the sick find private treatment, but not everyone has the economic opportunity. We addressed some of the concerns of the third age: Mainly the economic ones, not neglecting the health ones. It is everyone's duty to take care of this age that has done so much for the growth and education of the new generation. Ultimately, we all live in this environment, but when you address these concerns, you don't solve the problem, but simply relieve the worry that has been plaguing you...! They sit and think. Cafes in Tirana and everywhere. In line for retirement.
