Merkel and the mission in politics

Merkel and the mission in politics

The third largest figure in the history of Germany after World War II, after Chancellors Konrad Adenauer (1949-1963) and Helmut Kohl (1982-1998, the latter united the two Germanys), Chancellor Angela Merkel was little days ago in Tirana. Perhaps on her last official visit as Prime Minister of Germany. Merkel marked an era in the development of Germany. In 16 years (four terms in office), it maintained political stability and increased the economic strength of Europe's largest democratic country. It saved Greece in the period 2011-2015 from its public debt crisis, which risked involving in a domino effect all the Eurozone countries, destroying the euro. He saved her, disciplining the public finances of this country with 1 million state employees in a population of 9 million and endless debts. In 2015, in the biggest refugee crisis the world has known in the last two decades, it sheltered, amid a host of controversies at home and abroad, over 1 million Syrians. Merkel is the emblem of the honest man and committed to the values ??of democracy in her country and everywhere in the world. She lives in a 98 square meter apartment in Berlin and has not changed her habits (she does the house shopping herself) even in these 16 years in office as the most powerful woman in the world. It must be stated that Merkel came to Tirana (the first visit of a German Prime Minister in the history of Albania-Germany relations), due to the reforms of the current Albanian Prime Minister and his role in the region. The German personality is a missionary who has always seen power to accomplish its mission. She has never been brought up in her life, as a parapolitician, to use power for personal gain, or simply for her own party. We in our suffering country have two such missionaries at the moment. A former mayor of the capital and the current mayor of the capital. Unfortunately, in the main opposition party, to which 622 thousand citizens pledged on April 25 this year, in the historical party of the values ??of democracy in the overthrow of the early '90s, we have no missionaries in charge. We miss the presence of missionaries in the direction of our main opposition. Our German partners are well aware of the situation in our politics, as are the American ones. That is why Angela Merkel came to Tirana. For the values ??shown by the current leader of the Albanian government in facing the consequences of the devastating earthquake of November 26, 2019, the crisis from the pandemic from February 2020 until now, as well as the co-idea of ??the Open Balkans initiative, that in Tirana Merkel e described as part of the Berlin Process. This blessing of "Mama" Merkel is important for the cooperation between the countries of the Western Balkans. He warns that it is very likely that in this way the initiative can be seen by him or her who will be elected Prime Minister of Germany in the October 2021 elections. An open Balkans, with free trade, without bureaucratic obstacles, means a market 27 million people. If we have such, today we would be able to double trade with Kosovo (imports and exports), which is at the highest level of the last 30 years, with 164 million euros in exports from Albania for the period January-July 2021 alone. Merkel in Tirana helped the Open Balkans be inextricably linked to the advancement of free and common trade within the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA: Central European Free Trade Agreement) and the Berlin Process, launched 6 years ago. Both CEFTA and the Berlin Process have similar objectives of economic integration, investment and capital at their core. No objective and article of the three Skopje agreements of 19 July 2021, when the Open Balkans process began, removes or opposes CEFTA and the Berlin Process. On the contrary, it brings us closer to the European Union and the mission of CEFTA and Berlin. Cross-cutting progress within CETFA, with the interests of free movement of our citizens in the region, gives more fuel and power to the Berlin process. Merkel clearly understands this. It is really the decision-maker of the European Union countries in the last 16 years, who has understood more clearly than all the others the situation in the Western Balkans. That is why he undertook the Berlin Process. The sooner the leaders of Kosovo, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina see and understand this and the benefits of the Open Balkans, the better for their citizens. The future of a developed Kosovo and in the European Union does not deserve at all to be held hostage by modern supporters of a sick nationalism, for the sake of today's narrow interests of holding power.
