Another court against Beckett

Another court against Beckett

It is the European Court of Human Rights, which, by decision of 10 May 2022 (https://hudoc.echr.coe.int/eng#{%22itemid%22:[%22001-217723%22]}) , has declared inadmissible the request submitted by the Company "Agonset" Sh.pk, filed by the Italian entrepreneur Francesco Becchetti (in Italian Francesco Becchetti), against Albania. In this process before the European Court of Human Rights, the company "Agonset" Sh.pk has claimed that the Albanian state has violated its right to freedom of expression and the right not to be discriminated. These allegations have been challenged by the Government of Albania, objections which have been found to be well-founded by the Court. The decision of the well-known European Court comes four months after the decision of the Court of Tirana, to sentence Beckett to 17 years in prison on four counts: theft by abuse of office, laundering of proceeds of crime or criminal activity, forgery of documents and creation of fraudulent value-added tax (VAT) schemes. The question arises. Why was there no reaction from the Italian state for one of his convicted citizens in Albania, moreover, an important entrepreneur, who set up an Italian television station on Albanian soil and invited many personalities of Italian shows for interviews, and even employment at Agon? The reasons were given by the Italian media in time. On December 14, 2015, the Italian newspaper "Fakti i ditës" (https://www.ilfattoquotidiano.it/2015/12/14/agon-channel-truffe-milionarie-e-enorme-riciclaggio-le-accuse-a- becchetti / 2303476 /), in the article of the Italian journalist Lorenzo Bagnoli entitled "Agon Channel - fraud of millions of euros and extraordinary money laundering: accusations against Beckett", stated that "According to Albanian judges, the empire of entrepreneur Francesco Becchetti would be built in" a large recycling system " and in frauds of millions of euros. Frauds in which the injured party and the fraudster coincide: they are always companies affiliated with Becchetti. With this system, Becchetti collected 38 million euros in Albania and had to pay taxes to the Albanian tax authorities for these five payments that he has benefited for the Kalivaç hydropower plant. The entrepreneur managed to make a fortune by suing for fabricated disputes (between his companies) and investment partners, through inflated contracts (yes between his companies). But how did he do it? Becchetti was never the only one to pay reimbursements for invented works: in court he always brought his partners. This is what we read in the materials of the Albanian prosecution for "the most famous Italian of Albania", the founder of the first channel broadcast in Italy with headquarters on the other side of the Adriatic, "Agon Channel". Beckett, as a foreign entrepreneur, received from our state in 1997 the license to build the Kalivaç hydropower plant. For two decades in a row, Beckett specialized in suing international partners for the construction of the hydropower plant, such as the Italian state energy giant ENEL and the German superbank Deutsche Bank. In the last 6 years, he put his valuable experience in international trials to the test with our state, as our court had issued the international mandate to arrest him and bring him to trial in Albania. We won 110 million euros in international arbitration. In addition to arbitration in Albania, Beckett had opened international trials for his international partners. Three of which with Deutsche Bank, a partner in his company "Hydro shpk.", Accused of negligence and non-fulfillment of its contractual obligations. Two of his three international trials (arbitrations) ended with the loss of the German bank, which paid, according to Italian media, 159 million euros to Beckett. In the official budgets of Beckett companies only 29 million were found in November 2011, while for disputes with ENEL, entrepreneur Becchetti with the lawsuits against the state-owned company of his country has demanded compensation of over 440 million euros, since 2012. The Italian media themselves tell us who Francesco Beckett is. He is the grandson of Manlio Cerroni, the Italian tycoon mogul who owns Europe's largest garbage dump, Malagrotta, near the city of Rome. According to the Italian press, Cerroti was arrested by the Italian police on January 9, 2014 (https://www.ilfattoquotidiano.it/2014/01/09/rifiuti-7-arresti-a-roma-anche-il-patron-malagrotta-manlio -serroni / 836318 /), on charges of creating a criminal group, fraud and illegal waste trafficking. This is how the Italian media know the Italian Beketi, who was sentenced on February 23, 2022 to 17 years in prison in Albania and yesterday, on June 2, 2022, was denied the accusation filed with the European Court of Human Rights, for violation of the right to freedom of expression, after the closure of Beckett's television, "Agon Channel". That is why the Italian state did not react to the severe sentence of one of its citizens, in absentia, by an Albanian court, four months ago.
