Rama invites him for cooperation, Basha threatens him with arrest!
Written by Bardhyl Bejko 17 Maj 2021
This method of threatening arrests is becoming almost a political strategy. Although it is against the values ??of democracy. Political leaders insist on appearing not as politicians, but prosecutors with handcuffs to arrest whenever they want. The arrest of opponents is entering the daily jargon as evidence of political immaturity and confusion of powers. All the more grotesque proportions when the chairman of the Socialist Party, the Prime Minister of Albania, is targeted, confirmed for the third time with an obvious advantage by the second ranked party in the April 25 elections. In reality it is a phantasmagoric, hyperbolic and fantasy claim. Threats of arrest of political opponents pompously declared by opposition leaders lined up in the PD-AN coalition, during the campaign looked like smoke bombs, to give courage to the militants and motivate them to participate in the elections by voting for the contenders for power. When the threats of arrests turned into a battle horse for the chairman of the Democratic Party, in the general public opinion among ordinary citizens, he was considered more as a prosecutor and a judge than a chairman. There were speculations why Basha threatened with arrests at a time when detention, deprivation of liberty, trial, imprisonment, is a constitutional right of the police-prosecution and courts of Albania? Arrests are made only if proven guilty, then a decision is made to deprive anyone of their liberty. Otherwise it looks like partisan justice as long ago that you were shot with an order and punished with a word of mouth. Despite threats of imprisonment by opposition leaders. the majority never mentions the word imprisonment, or arrest. That would be unacceptable. If it happened from politics, it would be right to be conceived as intimidation and intimidation of the opposition, a criminal and Bolshevik action of the majority, which even without these threats is permanently accused of violating the rights of the individual, first of all the opposition that is declared as progressive and the undisputed hope of Albanians for a functioning democracy and well-being. It is in the right of the opposition to wage endless battles to defeat the majority by vote and to win through elections and free and fair voting. Raise scandals to the sky, crush and strike the deeds of opponents with facts and evidence. To lead the dissatisfied to their feet, to carry out its battle to hold the government accountable for all cases when things do not go well or serious violations of the use of the budget are found, corruption and misappropriation of public funds. For all these, the opposition has the citizens with it, strong support on its way to hit such phenomena that harm not only the opposition, but the state itself, the Albanian nation that does not have to suffer the irresponsibility of officials and administration, subjectivism, harm of the economy and becomes an obstacle to progress and development. It is the right of the opposition to stand up for its citizens if their rights and freedoms are violated and it becomes an obstacle to Albania's integration into the EU. For all this, the opposition has every right with itself. But when the political strategy is minimized to the grotesque threat that the leaders of the majority will be imprisoned, when the handcuffs are shaken in front of the eyes of the Prime Minister Edi Rama, only he is seen as an obstacle for the arrival of PD and the coalition in power. When insulted, denigrated, is cursed, cursed, when in every street corner, in the mountains of Dibra, Kukës, squares and paths, where Rama passes, someone is shouted like the crazy old men of the village, the slogan "Rama ik", or worse when the main opposition threatens with prison we send him behind bars as a political opponent, he declares that his patience is running out and he will give the final verdict, then the citizens rightly judge that the leader of the opposition is in great trouble. It is in deep sadness, shocked, crushed. That he does not make the chairman of the party but the chief prosecutor of Albania. Although he is not the representative of the prosecution, the President of the Court of Appeals, the head of the Supreme Court, the Constitutional Court. It has no right to punish any ordinary thief. No more the prime minister of the country. He hears such conspiracies and rightly judges that the main opposition is under the power of defeat, anger has dulled reason, it has struck logic, it has touched the psyche. No opposition leader in the world should grit his teeth and pretend that he has the Criminal Code in hand to get him released from prison. Is there a separation of powers here? Or does Basha want to say to his people: Do you see how brave I am? He just puts Edi Rama in prison. That only with me get rid of him! When did the main opposition take over justice? Since when did Basha win the right to put the prime minister or an ordinary citizen of this country in a cell? How dare Lulzim Basha threaten with direct arrests to make the claim, the trial, the sentence at a time when the winner of the elections, before and after April 25, invites him for cooperation and to make policy in the interest of Albania, citizens and the future to find the common language of moving forward without stopping to develop the economy increase welfare and complete major reforms waiting to materialize ?! How can the prime minister justify using incessant threats of arrest to get out of the dome of divine justice? With threats of arrest at a time when there is no practical possibility at least today when he is in big trouble it seems like an alibi in the face of the disappointment of the Democrats who prepared them spiritually for victory at all costs, when it is under strong blows from those seeking a DP differently and want party reform. It is out of grief that he gets the courage to threaten the arrest of Edi Rama! Even if it is a strategy not to be held accountable, not to be accountable to the party, to make the victim, to throw the river, to preserve the armchair and headquarters, the party, the firm and the seal, to preserve wealth and privileges, to reap benefits and increase profits, villas and resorts and accounts aggression is not justified. To remove as if they had stolen the victory, to make the triumphant, to shake the shackles in the hands, to make the secret police of the dictatorship with arrests to punish anyone who endangers the power is not equal to the victory of the power. Such threats resemble those of the Iraqi general on the eve of the invasion of Iraq by US forces in search of chemical weapons when he guaranteed victory over the US military. The general was nicknamed Ali Komiku. Now it is Basha's turn for this epithet as Bashkomiku with the threats he makes. Not that he lost the election, but even if he wants conditions won in no way is he justified in using slogans of this nature, to be brave and raise his voice for arrests that make the politician weak and none of what he declares himself trusts. When the political opponent extends his hand of cooperation, at least you should be silent, if you do not accept the invitation. There are thousands of ways to dismiss it. Yes with separate arguments, without anger and hatred. In the end, it is the hand of the Albanian for the Albanian. It is neither prayer nor prejudice, much less a trap or aptitude, to bag the opposition, which has its own integrity and makes decisions according to policies and attitudes that seem closest to its interests on the road to power. But there is no place at all to make the hero and the man strong. Nobody takes you seriously when you just lose in battle, you are not a winner, you are losing and not once but five in a row. That you have not won any battle even though the war continues and as Basha has stated, now the road to victory begins. Arresting anyone in Albania is not done voluntarily. There is no basis for hatred and anger. It is criminal offenses that motivate the judiciary to take away anyone's freedom. We believe that Lulzim Basha knows so much, especially since he was educated as a lawyer in the Netherlands, where no one touches you, only that he does not like you or sees him as an obstacle to gaining power. We know that Basha has loads. He just lost a battle that marked him throughout the decisive campaign. He self-appointed prime minister. In the premises of SHQUP he was called prime minister. Where thousands of others had shared the cake and waited to grab the spoons to tear the Albanian economy. Flying promises cannot be fulfilled even with a thirty percent growth economy. Biden, The US President on the day of the victory when he saw the pessimism that gripped the losers, Trump supporters, addressed them with the words: I know how upset you are. I know you suffer. How many times have I experienced this sensation! But this is not the end. Thus, Basha must rise to the role that belongs to him. To shake the sadness from the shoulders and throw away the pessimism, to reform the party, to prepare it for the next battles very close. But if the whole strategy of the opposition is limited to arrests and denigrations, threats of disappearance and expulsion of the opponents from the political scene, without having anything in hand, this language does not speak of democracy. Threatening arrests is not just foolish courage. It is not just to scare someone, much less to think that this is how it wins the hearts of militants, you get brave in front of them or that you have so much power that you get the courage to declare nonsense like these that do not give you any benefit, reduce and minimize, make you dwarf, comic, funny in the eyes of Albanians and internationals. If the Prime Minister invites you for cooperation, not because he is unable to lead, because he lacks numbers, but for a new policy in the name and interest of the country and the future, you can not oppose the outstretched hand with extreme cynical attitudes , insults even less with shaking of handcuffs. Indeed, this attitude leads you nowhere. To return to the trajectories of battles between enemies and not in cooperation between Albanians living in the same homeland, we speak one language and on the parties we must put Albania and the future. If Lulzim Basha treats the invitation with contempt, it is his evil. If you judge it as a trap he has not understood democracy. If you see him as a weakness, that's his evil. Incompatibility between political parties does not mean that no meeting points are found. Political opponents are not enemies. They have no incompatible intentions. Among them are Albanians. It is Albania. Our homeland. They are our children. Their future. It is the economy. These are big reforms. It is the objective to make Albania like the whole of Europe. In 2021 there is no room for war, fire, flame, Molotov, revolution. Violence and protests are not the solution. Abandonment of institutions does not save you. Parties in a democracy are doomed to dialogue, to debate. To agree or disagree when it comes to major objectives to pave the way where our country will walk in the century we live. Cooperation is an obligation imposed by the democratic system. In countries with real democracies, cooperation is a law, a known practice, a strategy, a model. Only in Albania, the leader of the opposition treats the invitation of the Prime Minister as a trap, a weakness and responds, not with cooperation, but with threats of arrest. Well, this is not how it goes. It is not a serious policy when you respond to the invitation for cooperation with arrests. To behave, not as party chairman, head of court and prosecution.
