Thirty-four "battles" won by Dr. Violeta!
Written by Pandeli Bardhi 25 Janar 2021
.... But, unfortunately, “the last battle, the thirty-fifth, he lost, in November last year. I will call the "battle" the years of work of the well-known laboratory doctor of the "Shefqet Ndroqi" Hospital, Violeta Koka (Alizoti). I will call them that after they fully deserve it, because indeed for thirty-five years he has worked and fought as if he were in battle. She worked at this Hospital for no more than thirty-five years, from 1972, when she started working as a newly graduated doctor. I will call them "battles" for another reason. These are "battles" not with visible "enemies", who sees them and takes measures to "kill" them, but fought with invisible "enemies", surrounded on all sides, savage and treacherous as they are deadly microbes. He could not win the "battle" with the "modern" enemy of the time such as Covid-19, who has taken and is taking the lives of many people, from whom, not even Dr. Violet. This is one side. The other side is that Dr. Violeta, fought with extraordinary dedication, like no other, within a close "fire position", with the "weapon" she found there, which over time would "modernize" and "perfect" it as no more good. Among the many other factors that decide the fate of the battle in any war, two are the most important. These are man and weapon. As a person, Dr. Violeta, was like no one else, whom I knew from the first years of marriage with my classmate at the military school "Skënderbej" and not only that, but Teki, I had even closer after I had a bank friend and not because I had him more than a friend, but because he is a friend about whom, speaking the ancient language, all those who knew him, when it came to Tekiu, all came "hands on fire"! I say this to come up with what Violetta and I both complemented "a whole", to say an ideal couple that many envied. The man, Violeta is, to say the least, had all the qualities of that man who never withdrew from the battle, until he achieved victory by doing the impossible and sacrificing everything that was required. Her work colleagues, since the director Mr. Kapisyzi, to her friends and colleagues and all those who have known and worked together speak with superlatives and some of them, do not hold back tears, for this colleague who had made a name and was connected inextricably with its work in the service of citizens. Here is what the director of the hospital, Dr. Kapisyzi, says: "Everything deserves a positive assessment, Dr. Violeta. She was a model doctor of the Sanatorium, very correct, very dedicated and exemplary, always on the front line of the fight against dangerous diseases in the clinical biochemical laboratory of analysis, always brave and of sacrifice, cooperating with all colleagues. Prof. Eli Foto, a pediatrician, says: “It is very sad the premature and sudden separation of a friend, so much so that I still can not believe it. Violeta, was not only my best friend, she was everyone's friend and everyone spoke about Violeta in the best words. Our society started at the Faculty of Medicine and continued until the end. In herself, Violeta, gathered all the wisdom and simplicity and wisdom and determination and smile. She was very scrupulous in performing the tests, calm, tireless, diagnosed and saved the lives of thousands of people. All from what her colleagues said, their impressions match at one point. Not that others did not do what Violeta did, but she experienced and worried about every case when she was notified to show up outside of work hours at any time of the night whenever her help was sought. In this sense, the analysis laboratory, had become her first home and in the background was the family, husband and children, who too were used to spending many nights without Violetta at home. She was called urgently to do the tests of the sick and she came every hour. It happened that the patient's tests did not turn out well. Violeta would repeat them again. Even when she was convinced that the tests did not turn out well, Violeta would worry as much about her man. On the contrary, when they got well Dr Violeta, he was probably happier than the patient and when they came out healed from the hospital, Dr Violeta was also healed. Thirty-five years of its work are really "battles" not only with "invisible" enemies such as deadly viruses, but also a life full of anxiety and worries that, in addition to these, also come from visible "enemies", which as if by "command" they came out of the "bushes" where they remained shy for years. She tells many cases of her close colleague AK who also had neighbors and Violeta told her about everything that happened to her. "There were many cases of emergency, when the hospital ambulance would go to pick up the seriously ill. On the way back, not infrequently the ambulance would take Violeta with the patient. She was ready, because as he used to say to me "Even at night when I sleep, I keep one eye open"! He was leaving and would return the next day at the end of working hours. The events are very different. I do not remember the month, it continues, November or December 1991, but the clock I remember, was 23:00. At the Philology, three or four hooded men get out of a car to the ambulance with a banal vocabulary and under the threat of knives, and shouts, "Go back, still continue to serve that criminal" force them to get out of the ambulance taking them everything they had with them. They got off and went from another direction to where they had left, to the Hospital ”! These threats from the "anti-communist" elements became "fashionable" even against the "communist" ambulance that served the patients which were constant, says her neighbor AK coming in 1997, when unidentified persons stepped forward to the ambulance in Sauk, this time with more sophisticated weapons, firearms. "They were taken out of the ambulance, as usual, after being robbed, they were forced to go in another direction to go roadless until they arrived at the hospital." "Often," says her husband Tekiu, "I would try to stop her in some case to justify herself in some way by not going to the hospital at night or by ambulance, but it was in vain." "No, no, he told me it is different when we are in an ambulance and they do not harass us." But the facts showed that even the ambulance was not spared! "So far, we have talked about one of the factors that determines victory in battle, such as the man, in this case, Dr. Violeta, who as a doctor fulfilled everything she needed as a determined man to go to battle until victory was achieved, love for work, which presupposed love for the homeland, commitment to duty and love for all her colleagues and especially for the "injured" such as patients so that they could recover and leave the hospital safe and sound. The second factor for achieving victory is the weapon, its use to perfection, where in this case were the laboratory equipment where blood tests were performed. Violet to protect not only herself, but also the equipment of the analysis laboratory, which had also become the object of threat from various elements in the events of 1997. She began her work as a laboratory doctor with the equipment she found there . It is her merit that insisted that they respond to time, and she did so successfully, modernizing the laboratory with modern equipment, thus increasing the range and quality of analysis. Dr. Violeta was not one to keep the "secrets" in the knowledge and use of the weapon to "perfection". On the contrary, she was also a good teacher to teach these to her younger colleagues, which was one more reason why they loved and respected her so much. The deadly virus did not spare D. Violeta either, like many other doctors dedicated to achieving victory over this invisible enemy. The "enemy" that more than others, these "warriors" heroes, had long been targeted. Dr. Violeta, closed her eyes on November 14, 2020, leaving in grief the two daughters, her son and her husband. All of them, doctors, together with Violeta deserve honors that did not spare even their lives in this fight for life or death. All these doctors, who are becoming approximately thirty, are real heroes being on the front line in the fight and efforts with this "enemy" that has "conquered" the entire planet. These are real heroes, just like those of the war, perhaps even more difficult than the war because they fought with an "enemy" that still threatens from all sides and even more so that invisible Dr. Violeta, was the daughter of Petref Alizoti, patriot and active fighter in the National Liberation War, as Commander of the First Battalion of BR 16 S, established in Therepel of Skrapar and later, senior cadre in the army, until he retired. Dr. was never evaluated. Violeta in the past system for eighteen years of her work, work with dedication and passion. Maybe for the "anger" that he refused to become a member of the party? "The party is my job, Violeta told her, when she was asked to be accepted in her ranks, I was serving the job well, I also served the party and above all, the homeland." So in the previous system, "there was no merit", in the current system, perhaps the justification will be that "it served in the previous system"! What matters is that Dr. Violeta has worked as a heroine and above all, this "title" has been given to her by society, given by her sweat, and as such, her work will remain "alive" in the minds and hearts of the children of her husband and to all who have known him. Finally, we can say that Dr. Violeta, closed her eyes with honor and glory and for this she will always be remembered and will always be appreciated. Her example leads to other "battles".
