Sali Berisha was asked by journalist Alba Alishani in A2, regarding whether the argument that "the elections were stolen" after every electoral defeat is still valid for citizens and democrats to believe.
The head of the Democrats from the Reestablishment side repeated some of the government's decisions before the elections, where he mentioned the envelope with 50,000 lek for pensioners, which according to him killed the free vote.
Berisha said that he will not give up the truth and promised that very soon the citizens will come out in sustained protests for the free vote.
"You should never get tired of defending a truth. In a studio, an analyst, when I was telling him that the envelope for 683 thousand pensioners with 50 thousand ALL is an act of vote buying, his question was why you never did it.
He who does such an act kills the free vote. You can't use the money. I don't shy away from that. We withdrew in 2021 and this doubled. We are proving it and we are asking the citizens to come out and defend the vote in the protests. There will be lasting protests", said Berisha.
