Alibeaj continues to fuel division in PD, nominates two candidates himself in Patos and Vaun e Dejës, "Foltorja" opposes him

The Democratic Party is again divided in the elections. The head of the official Democratic Party, Enkelejd Alibeaj, has decided to represent himself with his candidates for the local government elections on May 14. He appointed Pranvera Rizai in Patos and Klomentina Drini in Vaun e Dejas as the official DP nominees for the next elections. Drini has covered several functions in the local administration and in private businesses and comes from a persecuted family, while the candidate Rizai is a founding member of the PD branch in Patos and is known for her contribution as a member of the municipal council. Her profession is a teacher. In this situation, Alibeaj has so far nominated 11 names of democratic candidates who will seek the post of mayor/member of the municipal council in the May 14 elections. Specifically, Agron Kapllanaj competes in Mallakastër, Ilirjan Koxhaj in Ku?ovo, Sandër Marku in Lezhë, Sabah Sheta in Krujë, Naim Gazidede in Dibër, Genc Doçi in Kurbin, Bilbil Bajraktari in Kamëz, Dritan Sula in Dimal and Florian Qamo in Poliçan. It is not known whether in the big municipalities, Tirana, Durrës, Shkodër, Elbasan, Fier, Vlorë, DP will come out with joint candidates for mayors or not, but seeing that yesterday both "Foltorja" and the official PD submitted each separately, the names of the commissioners for "May 14" in the CEC, the hopes for the unity of the democrats in these elections in the face of the majority, are almost impossible. On the other hand, the PD branch in Vaun e Dejës opposed Klomentina Drini's candidacy for mayor. The head of the branch, Gentian Ndoj, attacked Alibeaj for not consulting the democratic structure of Vau i Deja by doing anti-statue action.
