Having "abandoned" Berisha, Agron Duka reveals why he will run alone in the elections

The chairman of the Agrarian Environmentalist Party, Agron Duka, has declared that he will compete in the May 14 elections with the logo of the political force he leads and not in the coalition. Invited to the show "Zone e Lirë" with Arian Çani, Duka also showed the reasons for this decision.

"If you enter a coalition, you lose your sigla and you cannot compete on your list of advisers. Given that the party has never competed since 2015, because the reasons are known. Once there was the Basha-Rama agreement, once we did not enter the local elections. So if we were to accept an alliance either with Berisha or with others, we would not be able to enter under the logo of the Agrarian Environmentalist Party.

These electoral battles somehow give a lot of help to a party of our dimensions. We had a race in Erseke a few years ago and the party structures were better. Then, not participating in any electoral contest, we shrunk. Today, through running with councilors in all the municipalities of Albania, we are refreshing the structures and building new ones.
That's why we went out alone. We are not against anyone. PD has its own problems, but not with us," he said./abcnews.al
