"There will be other 'non-women' politicians"/ The British ambassador makes a shocking warning: This is when the second wave will begin
Written by SOT.COM.AL 12 Gusht 2022
The Ambassador of Great Britain to Albania, Alastair King-Smith, in a television interview, has warned that there will be a second wave of declarations 'non grata' of politicians, businessmen and all those who undermine the rule of law in Albania.
The senior diplomat said that similar actions will be taken, but the names, he said, are not made public for some legal reasons.
“You're going to see more of that later this year and beyond. This will be something that will become routine. As soon as evidence comes to light, reports from journalists or others, we will see what actions we will take to help the final goal of ending impunity", said the ambassador, among other things.
On July 22, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha announced himself that he has been declared non grata by Great Britain. In a statement to the media, the head of the Democratic Party emphasized that this news was made known to him through a letter from the Home Secretary, where it is emphasized that this decision was made for "clear connections with organized crime groups and criminals, who have presented a danger to public safety in Albania and the UK and that you are willing to use these connections to advance your political ambitions, as well as for corruption".
PART FROM THE INTERVIEW
Former president and prime minister Sali Berisha publicly admitted on July 22 that he was banned from entering England. What is the number of Albanians declared 'non grata' by the United Kingdom?
Alastair King-Smith: You saw the article by Sir Stuart Peache the Prime Minister's special envoy for the Western Balkans a few weeks ago announcing the first wave of people being banned from the Western Balkans and Albania. The first wave included several high profile people from Albania with corrupt and criminal links who are not welcome to travel to the UK. We will continue to take similar actions in this regard. We do not publish names for some legal reasons. I feel that I cannot speak about their number or the names of these individuals. It is up to individuals to self-declare. This is not for an individual. This is to end impunity,
Kjo do jetë diçka që do të bëhet rutinë. Sapo prova dalin në dritë, raportime të gazetarëve apo nga të tjerë ne do të shikojmë se çfarë veprimesh do të marrim të ndihmojmë qëllimin final në dhënien fund pa-ndëshkueshmërisë.
