After the arrest of Lefter Alla by SPAK, the Municipal Council of Bulqiza met this Friday to choose from among its ranks the mayor who will lead the Municipality of Bulqiza until the swearing in of the new mayor who will emerge from the May 14 elections.
The councilors have proposed their chairman, Gëzim Xhafa, to replace Lefter Alla. After resigning from the leadership of the council, Gëzim Xhafa was the only candidate who entered the race, receiving 11 votes from 16 members present, 4 against and 1 invalid.
After today's decision of the municipal council, Xhafa will start his duties after the confirmation of the decision by the Prefect of Dibër District.
In the meantime, within 20 days, the Bulqiza Municipality Council will have to choose the chairman of the council from among its own ranks until the constitution of the new council that comes out of the May 14 elections.
