EU integration, Tabaku: Albania a dangerous country where money laundering is, here are the challenges for justice
Written by SOT.COM.AL 18 Maj 2022
Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku, reacted through a post on her social network 'Facebook' regarding the meeting held today, where the Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja, the General Prosecutor Olsian Çela and head of SPAK Arben Kraja.
Tabaku highlights some of what she describes as acute problems facing the justice system.
Tabaku states that there is no information regarding the 12 cases of electoral crimes which have been referred by the Prosecution to the SPAK.
He adds that money laundering and corruption are some of the key issues in the country and challenges for justice.
Guests today at the National Council for European Integration were Minister Manja, Prosecutor General Çela and head SPAK Kraja.
The fight against corruption is one of the important conditions set by the European Union and which in fact serve both Albania and society.
Despite the acute problems that our country has, electoral crime still exists and the persons involved in it at high levels remain unpunished.
12 election cases have been referred by the Prosecution to the SPAK in relation to electoral crimes and we need to have information about them.
Albania continues to be on MoneyVal's gray list and is a dangerous place to launder money.
Corruption has returned to the system and has ruined state institutions to the point that we are now the most corrupt country in Europe.
18% of money laundering occurs from corruption money in our country.
16% of money laundering occurs from drug money and that further goes to constructions and not only.
The strategy of the Albanian government with the integrity plan did not work, as the facts show that corruption is done by law, with a suit and Mr. Manja has a conflict of interest.
7 out of 9 custom laws voted in the Albanian parliament were written and voted by the ruling socialist majority.
Albania today is endangered by the loss of the fight against corruption, by the destruction of the moral values ??that hold a democracy and a rule of law. We must be accountable to the relevant institutions.
