The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, confirmed the information that Shell has found oil and gas in Shpirag mountain in Berat.
In an interview for Euroneës Albania, Balluku said that in March 2023 there will be more details about this discovery.
"Today, in the final phase of exploration until March 2023, it is expected that there will be a detailed analysis of how this hydrocarbon will come out of the underground. So, that Shell has already hit a very important artillery, which is composed of oil and gas, this is a fact. In these moments, the final phase is the analytical phase of how all this hydrocarbon will be extracted efficiently", she emphasized.
According to Balluk, this requires a very good work plan, which Shell will submit to the ministry early next year.
Balluku emphasized that this important discovery of Shell in the area of ??Shpirag will be followed by an important investment, about 6-7 billion euros, aimed at building the infrastructure and logistics that will serve for the extraction, processing and distribution of hydrocarbons. discovered in this area.
