Journalist Arbër Hitaj was invited this Saturday to Euronea Albania, where he commented on the involvement of Prime Minister Rama in the McGonigal file.
Hitaj said in his speech that Prime Minister Rama is not the only Albanian politician who has met the former high official of the FBI.
He said that senior officials of the Democratic Party, as well as the head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, have met the former head of counter-intelligence at the FBI.
"To separate some things, Mr. McGonigal has not met any officials of these levels in Albania, i.e. mayors, until the moment he was the head of counter-intelligence in New York of the FBI. These are meetings that he made the moment he left the office and retired, we are talking after 2018 as a private individual. Yes, he met them, but earlier he also met other officials, this is what is not said. At least from the information I have, he also met high-level Democratic Party officials, and it is even said that he met Mr. Meta himself," said Hitaj.
