"They used the data of civil registry persons", the Ministry of Finance is attacked by hackers

Kosovo's Ministry of Finance says its Property Tax Information System has fallen prey to a cyber attack.

Through a notification, this ministry said that unidentified assailants "used the data of the persons of the Civil Registry of the Republic of Kosovo through which they tried to read the data of the property tax invoices".

"The Minister of Finance assures the citizens that the attempted attack did not manage to violate the integrity and security of the information system in question. The case has been presented and now the competent bodies are dealing with it ", it is said in the announcement of the Ministry of Finance.

The Ministry of Finance said the attack was carried out in the online service section of the property bill.

The Property Tax Information System operates within the MoF Property Tax Department. Through this system, citizens can make property tax payments, register them or even evaluate their properties.
