Lawyer Leonard Karaj has described as a failure the fact that the Democratic Party led by Enkelejd Alibeaj failed to produce 61 candidates for all the country's municipalities. Invited to Euronews Albania, he said that if the Democratic Party is seeking to enter the elections just to participate, then "this is where qamet is calling".
"It is a failure, not of the leadership, that I do not call Alibejn even the leadership of this official Democratic party. Yes, he could not provide 61 candidates for all municipalities. I don't want him to accept that the Democratic Party that has led the country for 13 years does not have 61 candidates. I think that there was an internal war, of ideas more than a division of territories.
We are in elections and we are not talking about a particular party, we are talking about the Democratic Party which has governed this country for 13 years. If we want to enter the elections just to participate, then this is where the qamet is called", lawyer Leonard Karaj.
