Analyst Kreshnik Spahiu says that the candidates of the Democratic Party for the elections of May 14, with commanding chairman, Enkelejd Alibeajn, have withdrawn because they are afraid of former prime minister Sali Berisha.
In an interview for Euronews Albania, Spahiu said that those candidates do not dare to face Berisha.
"I think that here I am not alluding to say that Sali Berisha has threatened or blackmailed the candidates, but in their subconscious, they do not dare to come out against Berisha. This is the reason why all Alibeaj candidates withdraw. In the other conclusion, I have in mind that the opponents of Sali Berisha in the Democratic Party are not showing a different vision from Sali Berisha", he emphasized.
