Media meeting with American congressmen, focusing on the situation in the north of Kosovo and the role of NATO

The head of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, has held a meeting with Congressmen Pete Sessions and Robert Aderholt, in the framework of the preparation of the Security Forum for the Balkans that will take place at the beginning of the year with deputies from the region in the American Congress.

In a post on the Facebook social network, Mediu writes that sending Serbian troops to Kosovo is a clear signal that NATO must take a firm stand with Vu?i? and Serbia.

At the invitation of Congressmen Pete Sessions and Robert Aderholt, I conducted a two-day visit to the American Congress in the framework of the preparation of the Security Forum for the Balkans that will take place at the beginning of the year with deputies from the region in the American Congress.

With my two friends from the Albanian Community of America, Nazar Mehmeti and Gëzim Rushiti, we held meetings in the American Congress discussing the situation in the North of Kosovo, after the terrorist attack instigated by Belgrade.

Clearly arming the paramilitaries, training and directing them from Belgrade is part of a clear scenario coordinated with Russia to create a conflict center in the Balkans.

The non-reaction to what Vucic is doing in the Balkans is similar to the non-reaction to Putin's intentions expressed in 2007 at the Munich Security Conference. Vucic's stance on not recognizing Kosovo is clearly a stance not only against Kosovo, but against the EU and the US.

The sending of Serbian troops to Kosovo is a clear signal that NATO must take a firm stand with Vucic and Serbia.

We started the meeting with Congressmen Keith Self who was personally involved in the hearing in support of Kosovo a few months ago, the meetings continued with the co-chairman of the Albanian Caucus in Congress Robert Aderholt, Congressman Pete Sessions who undertook to maintain a public position on this issue in support of Kosovo. We also met with Congressional Foreign Relations Committee Chief of Staff Katherine Earl, who works under Foreign Relations Chairman Congressman McCaul.
